Grade 9 Mathematics I and II: Curriculum Changes and Updates
This session provides an overview of the new Grade 9 Mathematics I and II curriculum, highlighting changes and additions to the learning outcomes from the previous course. Participants will gain an understanding of the curriculum structure, revised expectations, and key considerations for classroom planning and implementation. The curriculum is currently in the pilot and voluntary implementation phase, with full implementation scheduled for the 2027-2028 school year.

Rory McIntyre is a Mathematics Curriculum and Assessment Consultant with the Learning and Outcomes Branch at Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning. In this role, he supports curriculum development and implementation across the province. Prior to joining Manitoba Education, Rory taught high school mathematics for 18 years.
